Can I install smoke alarms myself or do I need a professional.

It depends. If you require a 240V alarm, it must be installed by a qualified electrician. You can install lithium smoke alarms yourself; however, it is recommended to hire a professional. You still need to follow the Queensland smoke alarm legislation, the national construction code and manufacturer’s requirements.
