Corded Blind Analysis & Mitigation

A thorough investigation of your corded blinds to identify potential issues that could lead to children choking as a result of looping blind cords around their neck. The investigation includes a detailed report and recommendations about how to rectify the potential risks as well as limited mitigation while onsite.
We recommend that whoever occupies the dwelling be aware and diligent in relation to blind cords… and perhaps consider replacing the window coverings with a product that does not have cords.
OHS Methodology
Following OHS guidelines our corded blind check includes mitigation of loose blind cords that are not already mitigated.
Wall Anchors
If the window has a timber frame that can be used for anchoring the blind cord then our technicians will install either a wrap around anchor or a tension clip to anchor the cord and physically minimise the risk of it being played with by a young child.
Warning Labels
If the window does not have a timber frame our technician will mitigate the risk administratively by adding a warning label to the blind cord or the bottom of the blind or window frame.
Recommendations
A detailed analysis and report detailing the blind cords at the property, which blinds have cords are anchored above 1.6m and which blind cords still present some risk due to anchoring not being an option.
