IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
IF YOUR SMOKE ALARMS ARE SOUNDING AND THERE IS AN IMMINANT FIRE THREAT YOU SHOULD EVACUATE AND CALL 000.
YOU SHOULD NOT NEED TO MANUALLY TURN OFF OR DEACTIVATE A SMOKE ALARM. IF YOUR ALARMS HAVE BEEN DEACTIVATED USING THE FOLLOWING METHOD PLEASE ADVISE YOUR SMOKE ALARM SERVICE PROVIDER OR PROPERTY MANAGER BY EMAIL SO A TECHNCIAN CAN BE SENT TO YOUR PROPERTY TO URGENTLY RESOLVE THE ISSUE.
Important Information Before deactivating your sounding alarms.
- Check for a fire (If there is a fire get to a safe location and call 000)
- If there is no fire you need to find the triggering alarm by looking at every alarm while they're there and find the alarm flashing RED FAST.
- To silence the triggering alarm press the hush button on the smoke alarm flashing red fast. (This will silence your alarms for 10minitus)
- Now clean/dust your alarms bye Vacuuming and light dusting (This will generally fix the fault as dust and insects can get in the alarms)
- After 10 to 15 minutes when the alarms turn back on if they alarm again follow the deactivation guide below on the triggering alarm
- Contact your property manager or smoke alarm service team for a quick repair/service.
Turning off or deactivating Brooks EIB146RC
- Locate the Arrow: First, find the arrow on the smoke alarm. It typically indicates the direction you need to follow.
- Use a Flat Blade Screwdriver: Grab a flat blade screwdriver. Place it in the release latch on the side of the alarm where the arrow is pointing.
- Press Up Toward the Roof: Apply gentle pressure and press the screwdriver upward, toward the roof. This action will disengage the alarm from its mounting base.
- Push the Alarm Forward: Once the latch is released, push the alarm forward. It will separate from the roof or mounting base. Remove 9v battery
